Konami Cross Media has partnered with Disney XD and Hulu to bring the next chapter in dueling history to the U.S. Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS, the latest television series in the popular anime franchise Yu-Gi-Oh!, will premiere on June 6 on Disney XD and on June 7 on Hulu.
The series revolves around fifth grader Yuga Ohdo and his quest to bring the Rush Duels he invented to Goha City. Unlike previous duels in the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe, Rush Duels are faster and simpler, which allow players to utilize exciting, new strategies that make each duel dynamic and unique.
However, in Yuga’s attempt to popularize Rush Dueling, he will face strong resistance from the Goha Enterprises, the megacorp that controls the whole city — from schooling, food, clothing, and shelter to dueling rules. The central conflict of the series will be one between tradition and change as Goha Enterprises try to stop Yuga from building his road to dueling freedom.
Until Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS’ Hulu debut, kids can catch up by streaming previous series in the Yu-Gi-Oh! universe, including the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D, Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, and Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V.
