Once upon a time, parents and kids ended every night with a sweet, bedtime story. Fast forward a few decades later, and we live in a world of gizmos and gadgets, and storytime may not be just as sacred as it once was. Luckily, Spin Master‘s latest partnership with Moonlite creator and mom Natalie Rebot may singlehandedly save bedtime stories.
Moonlite is a kid’s storybook projector that attaches to mobile phones and uses the flashlight of the phone to project story images onto the ceiling or wall. The software also features unique sound effects specific to each story to make the stories a true audio and visual experience. The initial prototype on Kickstarter surpassed its funding goals, and reached more than 40 million views on the product’s original video.
Since working with Spin Master, Moonlite developed partnerships with the best publishers in the biz, including HarperCollins, Randomhouse, Hachette, and Simon & Schuster to bring some of the most beloved titles to the platform, such as Goodnight Moon; Wherever You Go; Where is Baby’s Belly Button; Curious George; Chicka Chicka Boom Boom; and more.
Beginning November 5, Moonlite will be available in Target stores, and will even be featured in the “Children’s Best Sellers” section in its stores nationwide. Moonlite starter packs are available at retail, and the app is available for download in both the Apple Store and Google Play Store.
