Breakfast is undoubtedly the best meal of the day, so adding it to family game nights is obviously a great idea! Exploding Kittens’ latest game is Anarchy Pancakes, a game designed for kids ages 7 and up in which players have to match pancake toppings to get rid of all of their cards.

At the start of each round, players will start off with seven cards; each card is a pancake with different toppings, including unicorns, steaks, worms, and more. The goal of the game is simple: Match the toppings on the cards. For example, if kids have a pancake with a lightbulb on it, and the player next to them also has a lightbulb, they can stack their lightbulb on top of their friends’ card. However, once pancakes are stacked, players cannot unstack them, so those cards are stuck together for the rest of the round.

The game is also full of anarchy — after all, it’s in the name! Players do not take turns in Anarchy Pancakes: Every player is trying to make stacks at once. The round ends when the first person to run out of cards yells “Anarchy pancakes!” The winner of each round gets a (fake) pat of butter to hold onto. The first player to receive two pats of butter wins the game!

Anarchy Pancakes is available at explodingkittens.com and Target for $13.99. We may be speculating, but we’re pretty sure this game is as sweet as maple syrup dripping down a stack of warm pancakes!

ANARCHY PANCAKES

In this fast-paced game, players race to match their pancake cards' toppings to other players' toppings, forcing them to take the cards. The first player to get rid of all of their cards and shout “Anarchy Pancakes” wins the game.
