Preschool favorite Caillou is a 4-year-old with a big imagination that makes each of his experiences an opportunity for tons of fun and learning. By going along on these adventures, preschoolers are encouraged to learn and explore the world around them. The newest DVD, Caillou’s Christmas, takes preschoolers on magical holiday adventures.
This DVD, which features 12 holiday stories, explores the magic of Christmas through Caillou’s eyes. From Caillou’s family’s Christmas Eve celebrations to learning to ice skate, this collection of Christmas experiences take preschoolers on wonderful winter adventures. Kids can follow Caillou as he overcomes his shyness and asks Santa for a dinosaur (which, now that I know is a thing you can do, I will do every single year) in “Holiday Magic,” discovers the fun of caroling in “Caillou Goes Caroling,” and plays in the snow in “Caillou’s Snow Day.”
The animation is similar to a storybook, which is a nice visual component to go along with the narrator, making kids feel like they are being told a story. Intertwined within each Christmas tale are lessons on different holidays, sharing, and the importance of spending time with family.
Through these stories, kids learn about Christmas traditions and treats, as well as the traditions of Caillou’s classmates, whom all celebrate the holidays in different ways. This DVD runs about 60 minutes in total, so it’s perfect for keeping the kids entertained for an hour, or just a few quick 5-minute vignettes while you’re prepping dinner.
If your kids are as excited about Christmastime as Caillou is, this festive collection is perfect for the whole family to enjoy together.
