Expert Review: Connetix 48-Piece Roads Set

This set introduces sleek black tiles and new tile shapes into the Connetix collection. Inspired by real roads, these new magnetic tiles put kids’ imaginations in the driver’s seat, as they create custom roads for any toy car to ride along. In addition to traditional square tiles, the set includes arches, intersections, quarter circles, long ramps, and short ramps. Kids can use all 48 pieces to design their own custom airports, skateparks, cities, and more.

A true STEM toy, the set inspired kids to learn the basics of city planning and engineering. They’ll also explore gravity, motion, and light concepts. It’s open-ended, promotes creativity, and multiple kids can play together.

It provides a great alternative to standard railroad track sets, which typically come with very few pieces and can be harder to assemble for younger children.

All Connetix pieces have a unique beveled design, perfect for cars to zoom along. The tiles are made from non-toxic ABS plastic that is BPA- and phthalate-free. Plus, the tiles are ultrasonically sealed and riveted for extra safety (especially important for magnetic toys).

The set does not include any cars, as kids are meant to use any variety of cars they already have, or build a car of their own using additional Connetix sets, like the 50-PieceTransport Pack. The set works well with all other Connetix sets, and adding a pastel or rainbow set can really take the roads to the next level, adding fun pops of color and embellishments to extend the roleplay fun.
