When kids are little, it can be hard for them to understand how to safely interact with newborns. The Cry Babies Newborn from IMC Toys helps toddlers learn how to interact with and soothe newborns and infants.
There are two dolls in this lineup: Coney and Molly. Coney is a baby doll with light skin, pink hair, and matching pink jammies while Molly has darker skin, purple hair, and matching purple jammies. Both dolls come with a pacifier, a bottle, and a teether.
Designed for toddlers ages 18 months and up, the Cry Babies Newborn cries real tears and sounds just like an actual crying baby. To get the baby doll to cry real tears, adults need to fill the water tank on the back of the baby’s head. Once the newborn is ready to play, kids can learn how to soothe it by feeding it, giving it a teether, and using its pacifier.
Kids can also interact with the newborn using the included bracelet. When kids are wearing the bracelet, the baby identifies them as its caregiver and is comforted by their presence. Just like with any other baby doll, kids can swaddle the newborn in its blanket, put it to bed, and gently play with it like a real baby! While kids can mainly interact with the Cry Babies Newborn as a (pretend) parent, they can also snuggle up with the doll at night. The doll’s head is made out of plastic, but the plush body makes the newborn a great cuddle buddy!
The Cry Babies Newborn is a great way for future older siblings to adapt to having a baby in the house and helping take care of it. However, parents who already have a newborn might not want to add more noise to the house.
Even if kids aren’t going to be an older sibling in the future, the Cry Babies Newborn is great for teaching kids to be gentle and nurturing with other little ones.
CRY BABIES NEWBORN
This newborn doll cries real tears and will calm down when kids give it a pacifier. Available in two styles, each comes with a bracelet that kids can wear so that the doll will recognize and interact with them.
