Animation giant Disney•Pixar is known for releasing films that captivate audiences in a 90-minute whirlwind of laughter, tears, romance, heartache, and even resentment (down with Lotso!). From that sorrow-filled montage in Up to watching Marlin reunite with Nemo, Pixar has tugged at our heartstrings for more than a decade. Next year, the company take to the big screen to analyze exactly what they evoke in all of us: emotions.
Disney•Pixar’s latest 3-D, CGI-animated film, Inside Out, is set to release on June 19. Directed by Pete Docter and Ronnie del Carmen, and produced by Jonas Rivera, the film is set inside the mind of Riley Anderson, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father accepts a job in San Francisco. Riley’s emotions are the stars of this new comedy, including Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The film depicts the emotional struggle Riley faces when trying to deal with her new life in a new city. Pixar released a new trailer for the film earlier today.
