Kids should be encouraged to march to the beat of their own drum. One way to express such authenticity is through music.

The Fresh Beats collection from The Dr. Lisa Co.’s toys and publishing division, EPI, allows kids to be their unique selves with three dolls who each know a thing or two about music. Beigne au Lei, Loxx, and Bao BBY each come with a detailed background that helps bring their character to life. Kids can either play with these backgrounds or make up their own.

Beigne au Lei is a non-binary hip-hop artist who comes from New Orleans and also has roots in Hawaii. They found their love for singing through choir and love helping people all over the world when not on tour. Loxx is a second-generation American who is proud of her Afro-Latina heritage. Despite her rocker style, she is top of her class in music school and loves to use her classical training in her music. Bao BBY is Afro-Asian and comes from Oakland, California who loves health and fitness. She first gained popularity on social media and skyrocketed to fame after she was featured on her friend Beigne au Lei’s song.

In addition to the creative narratives behind Fresh Beats dolls, these toys are also constructed to enhance play. Designed for kids ages 3 and up, the dolls have multiple points of articulation that allow kids to position them in a variety of ways. Their heads, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees all allow for movement. Appearance-wise, each doll has a custom blended skin tone, full lips, and gorgeous eyes. They each wear a unique removable outfit highlighting their creativity.

The most customizable feature of Fresh Beats dolls is their premium rooted hair. They have a variety of textures and styles, from straight to locks to bantu knots. If kids decide to switch it up, they can braid it, twist it, or roll it into updos, ponytails, bantu knots, or afro puffs for hours of styling fun.

The Fresh Beats collection checks all of the boxes for a toy in 2023. Not only do the dolls come with a variety of fun hairstyles and fashion choices, but they also reflect the diversity of the world. The Afro-Asian, Creole-Hawaiian, and Afro-Latina dolls celebrate their own differences and are the perfect model of marching to the beat of your own drum.
