Kids can learn more about wildlife while playing quick games, thanks to the two new games from Hiking Adventures With Kids (HAWKs).
Dinner Time is a fast-paced card game that focuses on building food chains in the animal kingdom. Players build the chain by discarding cards and identifying predator-prey relationships, slapping the table while shouting “Dinnertime!” once they’ve found a chain, and taking the pile of cards. The last player remaining with cards wins. The game teaches kids about the importance of the food chain and how every part of it plays a vital role in our shared ecosystem.

That’s Scat! is a token-collection game that teaches kids about pattern recognition, knowing when to stop searching, and how certain animals answer nature’s call. Players are trying to collect tokens by finding a matching pair. Any additional matching tokens of three or more must be put back in the bag, which can give other players an edge in grabbing those tokens for themselves. The player with the most matching pairs at the end wins the game.
Founded in L.A. by former retail executive Emma Flanders, HAWKs aims to inspire kids to reconnect with nature and ignite curiosity through play. Dinner Time and That’s Scat! are both under $20 and portable, making them fun, affordable options for taking along on camping adventures or road trips.
Both games are available now at hawkskids.com, and will launch on Amazon on Oct. 15.
