The Junior Explorer Adventure Kit Encourages Kids to Play in the Great Outdoors

Designed for kids ages 5 and up, the Junior Explorer Adventure Kit is easy for young kids to use. There are no complicated instructions to follow or materials to set up. The only item with instructions is the flashlight, which has a charge button that can be pressed down for 30 seconds to get 15 minutes of light or 60 seconds to get 25 minutes of light. The flashlight comes with batteries included as well. Although you can’t replace these batteries, they are super long-lasting, lending light for many playtimes.

My personal favorite part of the Junior Explorer Adventure Kit is the scavenger hunt and activity cards. Whether it be taking a walk or simply looking out the window, the scavenger hunt cards encourage kids to observe the nature around them by seeing how many objects from the cards they can spot. Example objects from the cards range from easy things to find like clouds and trees to more difficult things like animal prints and a nest.

The set also comes with cards detailing instructions for five other games. These games are called Compass Hunt, Flashlight Race, Seek & Whistle, Time Capsule, and Jr. Scientist. Some games require a guardian to help with the set up, while others kids can play on their own. Although kids can play all of the games with the materials in the kit, some, such as Jr. Scientist, suggest incorporating a camera or a notebook for additional fun.
