This week is STEM Week, and at Luki Lab, we celebrate STEM every week! Luki Lab is an innovative toy company dedicated to creating unique experiences designed to expand a child’s world. We create toys that deliver rich play value for a new generation of learners. Simply put, we’re obsessed with STEM toys and we think every parent should be too. Here’s why.

As parents, we all want our children to grow a lifelong love for learning. The best way to foster this is to encourage children’s natural curiosity and play, and this is where STEM toys come into play.

STEM toys are an excellent way to introduce kids to the fundamental concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in an engaging way that is fun for kids of all ages. STEM toys are all about active play, designed to encourage a level of engagement that inspires children to discover more about the world and themselves.

STEM toys build problem-solving skills.

STEM toys can enrich children’s developing cognitive skills, such as their logical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking. STEM-related activities teach children more than just memorizing facts and figures, providing opportunities for children to think critically, assess a problem, and come up with the best approach or solution.

Luki Lab’s Pinxies line of building sets are STEM-authenticated and designed to improve problem solving skills, while also inspiring imaginative storytelling. Kids can build and learn by creating new structures as they connect the plastic building links with the vibrant glossy paperboard panels. We created Pinxies to empower young girls with engineering skills, and our hope is that it will reinforce the message that STEM subjects and careers are accessible to everyone.

Our newest Pinxies line features the two-story Fairy Treehouse with a functional slide and swing, the Vet Care Center, and the Undersea Band. Best-selling Pinxies sets from last season include the three-story Enchanted Ice Castle and the Marvelous Mermaid Ship.

STEM toys promote creative thinking.

STEM toys encourage children to stretch their imagination to create something new and out of this world! Engaging in STEM-focused activities will challenge children’s creative thinking, while also developing imaginative storytelling. It also helps children build confidence in their own accomplishments and inspires them to keep learning. And let’s not forget the value of old-fashioned, screen-free playtime!

Luki Lab’s Gujo Adventure is another line of STEM-authenticated building sets, and a great example here. With Gujo Adventure, we invite kids’ imaginations to explore space in an immersive way as they build the vehicles and structures to take them out of this world. Today’s kids are witnessing space exploration become more accessible than ever, and we are proud to inspire the future space explorers and engineers with Gujo Adventure.

To accompany the fan-favorite, 3-foot tall Mission Mars Rocket that we launched last season, the newest Gujo Adventure sets let kids build the space exploration vehicles to further explore the Red Planet. These building sets include the Mars Space Explorer with an operating Sky Crane and the Mars Hover Ship complete with a rotating rock grinder.

STEM toys improve fine motor skills.

Another benefit of using STEM toys is that they provide children with opportunities to improve dexterity and hand-eye coordination. The act of building and tinkering can help enhance children’s fine motor skills, and build their confidence in their physical and intellectual abilities.

Our new Robo-Max T-Rex presents the ultimate building challenge, with both plastic and sturdy cardboard pieces, as well as working hinges to assemble with the provided screws and tools. We suggest parents join in on the challenge, putting those fine motor skills to the test while working together. While the assembled T-Rex towers more than 3 feet tall, with moveable joints, LED glowing eyes, and a thunderous audible roar, it’s the pride in creation that brings colossal joy.

STEM toys make learning fun.

Learning and fun are not mutually exclusive! By playing with STEM toys, children are more likely to associate science and math with a greater sense of freedom, fun, and discovery. Whether kids are learning basic math concepts or building a complex science project, STEM toys can make learning and playtime a fun experience — at the same time!

Luki Lab’s Clawsome! line of retro-cool, unplugged games do just that – kids can actually learn scientific theories while playing games! The newest game is called Submarings, a game of skill, speed and science. Kids can challenge their friends to see who can recover the rings of Poseidon the fastest. Simply press the buttons to activate the “Bernoulli’s Principle” and change the ring’s path. With STEM-authentication, kids will learn the principles of fluid dynamics as they play — all with no batteries or wifi required!

We hope you’ll join all of us at Luki Lab, to embrace STEM Week all year long! Bringing STEM toys into your home will certainly encourage children’s interest in STEM learning during their school years, and beyond. Who knows, you might be raising a future space explorer. We’ll see them on Mars!
