WHAT IT IS
This video game from Milestone takes Mattel’s iconic toy cars, Hot Wheels, into high-octane virtual racing sphere. It is the follow-up to 2021’s Hot Wheels Unleashed, and offers players classic racing gameplay, different vehicles, and 130 vehicle combinations and customizations.
WHY WE LOVE IT
While Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged boasts similar appeal to the first iteration — and that is not a negative. The racing video game gives players a classic arcade-style experience, as well as a story mode, all executed in detailed graphics. The new vehicles and maneuvers (jump and lateral dash among them), plus the commitment to faithfully representing the Hot Wheels brand, makes this sequel anything but a sophomore slump.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
Though the game is rated for ages 3 and up, some of the gameplay will prove too challenging for very young kids. The good news is that the varying difficulty level makes it fun for older and younger siblings alike.
PERFECT FOR
Gamer families; Hot Wheels super fans; kids with a need for speed; parents who want a modern taste of their arcade racing days
HOT WHEELS UNLEASHED 2: TURBOCHARGED
The world’s raddest Hot Wheels cars are back and taking the fun to the next level. Race more than 130 vehicles with crazy new mechanics and even more vehicle types. Plus, kids can build tracks with stunning new environments and different game modes to have fun off and online.
