Since its premiere in 2020, Mira, Royal Detective has highlighted the rich cultures of India, with episodes spotlighting Mira and her friends as they solve mysteries in their kingdom community of Jalpur. The animated preschool series will debut four extended-length specials that celebrate Bollywood music and dancing beginning this May on Disney Junior.
On May 2, fans can tune into “The Mystery of the Legendary Sword,” to see Mira and her friends embark on an epic quest to find a legendary sword said to belong to the rightful ruler of Jalpur. On May 16, “Mikku and Chikku’s Hometown Mystery” will debut with Mira accompanying Mikku and Chikku to their hometown, a mongoose-filled village where she meets their parents, joins a local festival, and helps solve a surprising mystery. On May 30, kids can watch “The Mystery of the Royal Flight” to see how Mira figures out how to help Neel when his new flying invention gets a mysterious hole during a big royal event. Lastly, on June 20, “The Big Jalpur Wedding Mystery” revolves around a huge, joyful wedding in Jalpur. Mira and her friends must track down the missing groom so the wedding can go on as planned.
The series features a South Asian cast and has celebrated the Holi, Diwali, and Eid al-Fitr holidays in the past with themed episodes. Fans can watch the new Bollywood specials on Disney Junior and Disney+ this spring.
Mira will also make a special appearance during the upcoming Disney Junior Fun Fest taking place at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California, on April 29. Plus, fans of the characters can look for books from Disney Press; soundtracks from Walt Disney Records; a DVD from Walt Disney Studios; apparel and accessories from shopdisney.com; and a toy line from Just Play that includes dolls, plush, and role-play toys.
