Eight years after we first met Moana and Maui, they’re headed back to our screens this year!
At the end of the first movie, Moana returns the heart of Te Fiti, restoring the power of nature and saving her island from destruction. When she returns home, she encourages her people to look beyond the horizon and return to their seafaring ways.

In the new trailer, Moana takes a place of leadership among her people, taking them to new islands and exploring. She receives a call from the ancestors to bring together all of the seafaring people from across the ocean, and reunites with Maui to do it. The movie also features the return of iconic characters such as the Kakamora, the rabid coconut men; Pua, Moana’s pet pig; and everyone’s favorite crazy chicken, Hei Hei.
Moana 2 premieres in theaters starting Nov. 27. While it’s yet to be seen if Moana 2 will feature a song as iconic as “You’re Welcome,” we’re still just as excited to see it hit the big screen. Check out the trailer below!
