Tons of kids satisfied their fidget — and dumpling — cravings with My Squishy Little Dumplings after they launched last year and became one of the hottest fidget toys around. Now, WowWee is expanding on the collectible snack craze with My Squishy Little Snack Packs.
Recommended for kids ages 5 and up, the food-themed collectibles are available in single packs or multipacks. The paper lunch boxes each contain tissue paper-wrapped My Squishy Little characters and a baggie full of charms. When kids unwrap the characters, they’ll see that the tissue paper is actually a collector’s guide to all the different My Squishy Little characters, but the crinkle factor makes it more fun than a typical collector’s guide. The lunch box packaging itself transforms into a simple, one-dimensional playset with a candy shop motif.
Each multipack includes not one, but two My Squishy Little characters and five mini surprises. The characters feature different snack items with friendly faces on them and are characterized into two different groups: Droppers and Poppers. If you’re familiar with My Squishy Little Dumplings, those would be considered Droppers. When kids squeeze the Droppers, their bodies will pop out below their oversized heads. Alternatively, the Poppers have a slot at the top for a different effect. Kids can push the charms into the slot and then squeeze the character to make the charms jump out. The charms are also snack-themed, just on a smaller scale.
The Snack Pack characters are about the same size as My Squishy Little Dumplings, but with more of a rubbery feel to them rather than the vinyl texture of the Dumplings. They still have the same fidget toy play pattern to them, with even more collectibility since there are 56 different characters and a ton of charms. In addition to the popping charms, there are also wearable charms, like sunglasses, that kids can place on the characters to dress them up.
The Droppers family includes an egg with an overturned frying pan on its head (so it looks like the egg’s body is dropping out of the pan), a watermelon, a marshmallow, a pineapple, a croissant, a hamburger, and more. Kids may even recognize Doe, Dip, Dee, and Dot (the original My Squishy Little Dumplings characters), as well as Coco the cotton candy cloud and Peace the peach.

The Poppers family includes a popcorn bucket (make a popcorn charm pop out), a cup of hot chocolate (perfect for the marshmallow charm), a toaster (watch out for flying breakfast pastries), a peanut butter jar (look for the peanut charm), a takeout container (with a tiny dumpling charm), a bag of chips, a gumball machine, a cereal box, and more. You’ll notice that the Poppers all have matching charms to go with them, but kids won’t know which ones they’re going to get with each lunchbox so they may need to grow their collection to find the specific charms they’re looking for.
Ask any kid and we’re sure they’ll agree: You can never have too many snacks, so start unboxing those lunchboxes now!
