After a long wait from kids, lots of building excitement and many (many) leaks, Nintendo has finally unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch later this year.

The new console boasts a bigger screen, sleek new Joy-Con, an enhanced pop-out stand, a new USB-C port, and more. The teaser video shows that the new console will speed into homes this year with a new version of Mario Kart.

The Nintendo Switch 2 will be backward compatible, meaning gamers can enjoy Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive games as well as physical and digital Nintendo Switch games. However, some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo will hold Nintendo Switch 2 Experience Events throughout April, so fans can experience the new system for themselves, with locations in North America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
