Storytime is about to get a major upgrade!

The Genius of Play — The Toy Association’s nonprofit initiative that aims to help parents raise healthy and happy kids through play — is launching a new podcast! “Once Upon a Playtime” is a storytelling podcast that shares real-life, personal stories from actors, artists, entrepreneurs, and more, inviting listeners to rediscover the value of play.

Designed for kids to listen with their parents, each episode features a guest who found their path to success by keeping their favorite way to play alive. In the show’s first season, kids can expect to hear tales from actress Alicia Silverstone, Baked by Melissa co-founder and CEO Melissa Ben-Ishay, and LEGO sculptor Nathan Sawaya. The interviews reveal guests’ childhood play memories and explain how play has shaped each guest’s future personality and career path.

Each episode is only 15 minutes long, making them the perfect length for little attention spans. “Once Upon a Playtime” was developed in collaboration with FRQNCY Media and is available to stream on Spotify, Apple Podcast, and wherever else podcasts can be found. Check out Nathan Sawaya’s episode here!

Happy listening!
