Bandai America is adding three more shell designs to its lineup of Original Tamagotchis: Retro Flowers, Sakura, and Logo Repeat. There are now more than 40 different styles of the Original Tamagotchi in total, making it pretty much impossible to choose just one.Â
Tamagotchis are handheld virtual pets that first launched in the ‘90s. Recommended for kids ages 8 and up, players can feed and nurture their pets with the same gameplay that the nostalgic toy featured when it first launched more than two decades ago. How kids take care of their pet will determine which character it grows into. Kids can play games with the Tamagotchis, check their health, give them medicine, flush after they go potty, and discipline them.
The new shells include retro flowers on a dark blue backdrop, ombre Sakura cherry blossoms, and a scattered Tamagotchi logo on a white backdrop with doodles of the different characters on it. Fans can preorder the new designs now on Amazon for $19.99 each. They will officially launch on March 30.
