Our GeneraOG Jenny and Kitchention dolls focus on sending positive messages to girls, emphasizing that they are making an impact on the world more than ever before. The dolls are inspired by girls everywhere who have their own stories to tell, and were made for girls to have characteristics and activities in common with them. One of my favorite dolls in the line is Jenny, who loves baking with her mom and grandma for charity events. To her, there’s nothing sweeter in the world.

The 18-inch poseable doll, for kids ages 3 and up, is high quality and affordable and comes with a chapter book and a baking set. She also comes complete with an apron and baking accessories, including cupcakes, oven mitts, and a cupcake tray. Jenny is made of sugar and spice and a whole lot of good ideas and determination. Part of her “story” includes what she does for her community, like making care packages for soldiers, helping out animal shelters, and taking baking classes with her best friends.

Jenny is the featured character in the themed book with beautiful illustrations, The Sweet Shoppe Mystery. Girls ages 7 and up can read the book themselves, which is entirely age appropriate, or they can have the story read to them. One of the best parts about the book is that words kids may not know, like “locomotive,” “panels,” and “ark,” are marked with an asterisk and can be looked up with the glossary in the back.

The doll perfectly complements the Our Generation Gourmet Kitchen Set, also for kids ages 3 and up, a play set designed for Jenny and other Our Generation 18-inch dolls. The 93-piece set is perfect for any doll who loves to cook or bake. It comes with a kitchen unit, a refrigerator, shelves, a dish washer, and other accessories like food and dishes. I love how there is such attention to detail, like being able to store things in drawers, turning knobs on the stove, and placing dishes on a dishrack in the washer. Girls can recreate scenes from the book using set as well.

For every doll or accessory purchased, Our Generation donates 10 cents to Free The Children’s Power of a Girl Initiative to help girls all over the world get the education they need. In addition, the packaging of all its products is made from recycled materials, is recyclable, and is printed with soy-based inks. Our Generation shows girls that they have a lot in common with the dolls and that it’s never too late to make a positive impact on the world, which is something I wish I had when I was growing up.
