Patch Products LLC expands into the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) category this year with the acquisition of Roominate, a line of building sets designed for girls.

Patch will still produce puzzles, games, and toys, and says that Roominate is continuing to diversify its line of products. Roominate currently offers 12 play sets, and kids can build interactive scenes such as a school bus, amusement park, and more that come to life with the use of motors and lights. The interactive app also allows “Roominaters” to remotely control motors and lights and get design ideas from other users.

Despite the acquisition, the Roominate founders will remain involved and play a vital role in the future of the brand.
