After more than 25 years of gaming adventure, the world of Pokémon continues evolving with the introduction of Pokémon TCG: My First Battle! TCG means “trading card game” and the legacy of the Pokémon TCG dates back to the first wave of Trainers in the late 1990s. With so much history — and soooo many cards to collect, trade, train, and battle with — new players ages 6 and up now have the perfect way to get in on all the fun and action.

Each My First Battle set comes with everything that Trainers need to get started. Families can choose from Pikachu or Charmander-themed sets that are designed for streamlined gameplay with easy-to-follow instructions for two players.

Inside the box, players will discover a large Pokémon coin and two mini decks comprised of 17 cards each. Two playmats provide visual guidance to complement the included rulebook and the prize tokens and damage counters help with scoring.

Throughout the game, players will learn how to train and battle while evolving their Pokémon. They’ll also learn all the fundamentals of the game, including the difference between active and benched Pokémon. And, since this is a battle, they’ll learn how to attack and dish out some damage!
