Expert Review: Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet — Stellar Crown Elite Trainer Box

Designed for kids ages 6 and up, the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet — Stellar Crown Elite Trainer Box is an expansion to the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It focuses on the Terastal phenomenon, which players first saw in the video games Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet. The expansion also introduces the Stellar Tera Pokémon ex along with three other Pokémon to the TCG: Archaludon, Hydrapple, and Legendary Pokémon Terapagos. The box comes with nine Stellar Crown Elite booster packs, a full-art foil promo card featuring Noctowl, 65 card sleeves featuring Stellar Form Terapagos, 45 Energy cards, six damage-counter dice, a competition-legal coin flip die, two condition markers, a guide to the expansion, and a code card for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live. 

The Stellar Crown Elite Trainer Box is a great way for kids to upgrade their deck and game setup. As with all Pokémon TCG products, the card art looks amazing, especially the Stellar Tera Pokémon ex cards, which feature crystalline designs. The included player guide features a chart of all the cards available to collect in the expansion, so kids and collectors can keep track of all the cards they still need to find using booster packs. Plus, once kids are done playing, the box doubles as a storage container.

An Elite Trainer Box is not the ideal way for new players to start playing Pokémon TCG. The set does not come with instructions on how to play Pokémon TCG.
