You don’t need to be a perfect painter to express your creativity!

Penguin Workshop is publishing a new book under Penguin Young Readers that will show kids that art is about more than just perfection.

Programmed to Paint follows Pintro, a robot programmed to do everything perfectly. Pintro is good at math, baking, and more, but wants to find his own individuality in his art. Kids can follow along as Pintro learns to do more than paint perfect copies of his subjects.

Mauricio Abril brings a heartwarming story and adorable illustrations to the book. | Source: Penguin Workshop

The new book comes from author and illustrator Mauricio Abril. Other works from Abril include illustration for the books Robots Can’t Dance, Yi’s Journey Home, and Meet Everest.

Little readers who want even more books to deck out their shelves this year can look to other offerings from Penguin Young Readers, such as Something, Someday by Amanda Gorman and illustrator Christian Robinson; Just Because by Matthew McConaughey and illustrator Renée Kurilla; and books featuring characters kids already love such as Love from Bluey by Suzy Brumm.

The new Programmed to Paint book is available now and recommended for readers ages 4-8. Get the little artist in your life a book that teaches them to embrace their individual style and practice and grow as they go!
