The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show is returning to New York City! In celebration of the show’s 10th anniversary, young New York residents and visitors can relax as colorful puppets tell familiar tales.
The 50-minute show features four Eric Carle stories, including The Artist That Painted a Blue Horse, The Very Lonely Firefly, Mr. Seahorse, and The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Kids can watch as more than 75 puppets grace the stage to act out their favorite books. Each puppet is detailed and resembles the characters, so kids will recognize the animals and storylines. The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show also features original music and a creative cast of storytellers.
Every performance is designed to be autism- and sensory-friendly, so every kid can enjoy the magical moments. The house lights remain half-on, so the theater is never fully dark, and there are no abrupt or starting sound or light cues. Each performance also maintains an even sound level, so it’s never too loud.
Parents can utilize the quiet areas in the theater lobby if their kids need a break from the show as well. The show is designed for kids ages 6 MOS and up, but kids of all ages are welcome.
Families can see the show at The Duke Theater in New York starting on Sept. 7. Parents can sign up for an exclusive presale now at hungrycaterpillarshow.com. During the holiday season, Dream Snow will be included in the story rotation for extra holiday cheer!
