There’s some good news ahead for train-loving kids and families!

On Sept. 1, Mattel Television‘s Thomas & Friends season 24 debuts on Netflix with 20 all-new, 11-minute episodes. In the new season, Thomas, Emily, Percy, Gordon, Rebecca, Nia, and James visit new countries around the world where they encounter new characters, including an electric train from Japan, a car made entirely of locomotive parts, and an American inventor.

The new season of Thomas & Friends will join a Netflix streaming lineup that includes season 23 and six different specials.

Created as a fictional story for the Reverend. W. Awdry’s son Christopher in 1945, tales of Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends on the Island of Sodor sell more than 2 million books each year across more than 100 titles. For the 75th anniversary of the iconic blue Tank Engine, Mattel has been celebrating with numerous new products and partnerships spanning publishing, music, TV, and toys.
