Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem may have been a smash hit from the summer, but the TMNT mayhem is not dying down anytime soon! The heroes in a half-shell have remained an extremely popular license for both kids and adult fans, who enjoy collecting toys based on the franchise. One of the latest TMNT toys is the Pizza Fire Delivery Van from Playmates Toys.
Recommended for kids ages 4 and up, the Pizza Fire Delivery Fan is the turtles’ secret weapon in their fight against Superfly and his army of baddies. The van is designed just like it’s seen in the movie, down to the green and yellow coloring and the hand-drawn pizza on the side. When you first open the packaging, there are a handful of loose pieces to assemble, so adult supervision will be helpful for younger kids. The pizza firing mechanism also requires three AA batteries (not included), so adults can help put those in before playtime.

The box comes with a sticker sheet with more than 30 stickers. Each one has a designated spot on the truck or on the pizzas, but if kids are feeling creative they can go their own way with the placement. The stickers make the truck even more detailed, adding things such as headlights and a license plate that says “XTRA CHZ.”
The Pizza Fire Delivery Van opens from the front and back and has enough room so that all four Turtles (plus Splinter) can ride inside. However, the action figures are sold separately from the van. Kids can collect Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, Splinter, Rocksteady, Bebop, Superfly, and Leatherhead in other Playmates Toys sets.
The best feature of this toy is its pizza launcher. Simply press down on the large pizza slice on top of the van and the launcher slides out of the side door. Any of the Turtles can sit in the hot seat and fire off up to eight pizzas from the motorized launcher, which uses three AA batteries (not included). The pizzas come shooting out at a fairly high speed and the angle at which the launcher aims can even be adjusted so that bad guys can be taken down at a greater distance. However, kids should be careful not to aim the launcher so that someone gets a pie in their eye!
