On the Once Upon a Beat podcast, DJ Fyütch teams up with his trusty turntable Baby Scratch to twist classic stories into something new. Goldilocks and The Three Bears becomes “Goldilocks & The Three Beats,” the folktale of John Henry becomes “John Henry, Steel Drivin’ MC,” The Ugly Duckling becomes “The Funky Duckling,” and more. Twelve full episodes feature modernized hip-hop versions of favorite fables.
The host, Harold “Fyütch” Simmons II, is a Grammy-nominated producer and music artist with a personal passion for social justice. His classroom songs gained popularity with parents and educators alike. His YouTube channel features everything from positive affirmation songs for kids to rap-based classroom activities honoring Indigenous Peoples Day.
