My hypothesis is this: Your little ones need these new Ada Twist, Scientist toys from Just Play.
Ada Twist, Scientist is a brand-new show on Netflix that follows pint-sized scientist Ada Twist and her two best friends as they ask big questions and work together to discover the truth about everything! This show is super cute and is sure to be a big hit, and Just Play has a full toy line that will help to spark kids’ curiosity in the playroom.
The line currently consists of three main products, the On-the-Go Lab Set, the Lab Doll, and the Glow and Go Notebook. Each of these products is super cute, with eye-catching colors and pieces that are big enough for little hands to maneuver. Each is designed for kids ages 3 and up, and is available exclusively at Walmart. But like any good scientist, I had to try these all out for myself — you can find my extensive research notes below.
The On-the-Go Lab Set is an amazing playset that opens up into a mini-science lab for kids to role-play different experiments. The set encourages kids to ask all of the major questions — who, what, where, when, how, and why — as they work their way through the instructions on the six included experiment cards that use household items to do basic science experiments. Since it is designed for young kids, I recommend that a grown-up get in on the fun to supervise, but older kids will be able to conduct these experiments on their own.
Plus, the set has everything that little scientists need to be just like Ada and her friends: goggles (safety first!!), a beaker, a flask, test tubes, a removable ruler, a working scale, an eyedropper, a funnel, a double-sided measuring spoon, and of course stickers to decorate the lab case. That’s a grand total of 20 pieces in all — which is great to conduct the experiments, but also for anytime in the lab that may just be imaginative play.
Once kids are ready to take their lab on the go, everything packs up inside and it features wheels to roll it to wherever you’re going next.

The Ada Twist, Scientist Lab Doll is the perfect friend to remind kids that scientists never say never! This 10-inch Ada Twist doll is ready to hit the lab. Dressed in her polka-dot dress and signature lab coat, Ada will sing “The Brainstorm Song” and say phrases from the show when kids press her belly. What I love about this doll is that it comes with so many cute accessories to really complete the full lab setup. Ada comes with goggles, a science notebook, a pair of gloves, and two laboratory flasks, in addition to a two-in-one drawing board that transforms into a desk.
Since the doll’s arms and legs are articulated, kids can pose Ada any way they’d like while they set up fun scientific adventures to embark on. For even more fun, there is a mystery experiment card in the packaging that grown-ups can cut out to conduct an experiment as a family.

And to keep track of all of their bright ideas, kids can use the Ada Twist, Scientist Glow and Go Notebook. This lights-and-sounds notebook lets kids scribble down all of their scientific findings, and even do some brainstorming along the way. Kids can use the dry-erase marker to write in the notebook, then press the buttons to light up the LED board with different colors and illuminate their drawings, doodles, and ideas.
Of course, our girl Ada is featured on the front, along with some science-themed stickers on the front. The interactive notebook also plays different sounds, including “The Why Song” from the show. I love that this oversized notebook is great for little hands, but not too big to carry around (you never know when inspiration is going to strike!). Like the doll, this notebook also features a mystery experiment card inside that the family can do together.

In conclusion, I think that we as a scientific community can agree that these toys are a can’t-miss. Upon in-depth review, they’re packed with fun, role-play opportunities, play value, and scientific adventures.
