air-marker-sprayer

Living in New York City has its benefits, including seeing some of the most interesting people you will ever meet in the heart of Times Square. If you’ve ever taken a stroll down those few blocks dominated by bright lights and too many tourists, you’ve definitely seen the crowd-pleasing spray artists. These are the guys wearing really serious face masks, making art with spray can paint. If you’ve haven’t seen these them in action, you may have seen them while scrolling down your Facebook newsfeed.

The results is a beautiful piece of artwork. They are almost always the artists’ rendition of the New York City skyline with a super galactic vibe, including accents like stars and a moon. So, when I found out that Crayola was making an Air Marker Sprayer, I immediately claimed it and thought, “OMG! Now I can try to do this.”

However, as I was taking out the contents of the box—the motorized air marker sprayer, markers, stencil sheets, and paper—I started to feel nervous. Maybe I was too confident. I started to become scared and intimidated that I couldn’t be able to produce any cool art.

Trying to move past my inner monologue, I continued to set up the Air Marker Sprayer. All I had to do was plug in the motorized unit and twist in one of the markers inside of the twist ‘n load nozzle—it seemed suspiciously easy. But that’s it!

First, like any other sane person, I pulled the trigger of the nozzle and started spraying the marker all over the piece of paper with random motions. Then, I did it with a different color. The colors came out so fast and looked so vibrant, and felt just like an airbrush that any other professional artist would use. I did it!

My favorite part about this activity toy is that the sprayer works with so many more Crayola markers, including Crayola Fabric Markers and Window Markers (but, kids should probably tell a parent before spraying on their clothes and homes). It also comes with a bunch of stencils including letters of the alphabet, a unicorn (this is important to me), a rocket ship, and more.

Because the air sprayer is electric powered, then kids won’t have to take any breaks or fuss with any batteries. However, brace yourself: the motorized function makes a humming sound when it’s on, so prepare for some noise.

Kids aren’t limited to their stencils. They can create all sorts of artwork for all types of occasions—check out what Toy Insider Parent Destiny created below. This also proves that kids might have to share with their parents for this one!

The Air Marker Sprayer turns any ordinary marker into spray art. Being an inexpensive, fun activity toy, kids will be airbrushing like a pro (like me, *dusts dirt off shoulder*) for hours at a time.
