A fast-paced card-MAtching game

  • Games can be played in about 20 minutes
  • Compact for taking on the go
  • Can be played by 2-6 players

In this card game from Gusher Games, players try to match their socks to pack them away for summer camp. After shuffling the deck, players check the colors and patterns of the socks in their hands, pull a card from the Draw Pile, and ask other players if they have a sock of the same color or pattern. Players can’t ask for both color and type, and will lose their turn if they do.

Once players start finding pairs, they display their pairs and continue searching for others, avoiding the dreaded holey sock, which still needs to be displayed, but doesn’t count toward a pair. The first to pair five or six non-holed pairs (depending on how many players are present) shouts “Sock it to me!” and wins the game.

The game is easy to pick up and learn, making it a great choice for family game nights. Most games can be played in 20 minutes, and the deck is compact, fitting in any backpack or bag for road trips or vacations. It’s also a great way to teach kids about recognizing patterns quickly.

When players run out of cards, they must grab another from the Draw Pile, even if it’s not their turn. If the Draw Pile runs out of cards, the game ends, and whoever has the most complete pairs wins.

Summer travel; family game nights; rainy days

SOCK IT TO ME

In this game of matching and sabotage, players ask each other for socks of a certain color or type. Be the first to match all of your socks, but watch out – other players may just give you a hole-riddled sock instead!
