In 2020, Mattel launched an ‘80s-themed American Girl doll named Courtney as part of the Historical Doll collection. Courtney made her debut with a totally ‘80s neon outfit complete with pink leggings, a jean skirt, and a scrunchie in her hair — plus, accessories like a Pac-Man Arcade Game, a Care Bears Sleeping Bag Set, pretend Lip Smacker lip balm, and other retro staples. It’s only fitting that Courtney gets some fresh accessories, like the new-yet-nostalgic Strawberry Shortcake collection.

The new American Girl accessories line includes a Strawberry Shortcake Sleeping Bag Set for 18-inch dolls that comes with a quilted sleeping bag that zips up the side, a stuffed pillow with a Strawberry Shortcake graphic, and a plush Custard (Strawberry Shortcake’s cat). The Sleepover Bundle comes with the Sleeping Bag Set; a pair of doll pajamas with a scrunchie; and various accessories, including a boombox that plays radio sounds and songs on the four cassette tapes, a cootie catcher, snacks, and a friendship book.
There are also pajama sets for both the doll and the kids who own the dolls. The doll pajamas fit 18-inch dolls and feature pink, fleece, zip-up, footed pajamas with a Strawberry Shortcake graphic, while the human pajamas feature a French-terry PJ top with the original Strawberry Shortcake graphic and striped raglan sleeves, and matching striped pants. The human pajamas come in kid sizes XS-XL.
