The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a tradition for many families, whether they trek to New York City to see it in person or they crowd around the TV while the turkey is roasting in the oven. Iconic characters like Snoopy, SpongeBob, and more look larger than life, filling kids with a sense of wonder. Now, Baby Shark is going to join those infamous characters floating through Manhattan.
Nickelodeon and Pinkfong are bringing an 18-foot Baby Shark-themed float and a 25-foot-long Baby Shark balloon to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year. The float takes parade-goers under the sea and features members of the shark family swimming around a bed of anemones. The balloon looks just like Baby Shark, right down to the star on his cheek.
The Baby Shark set-up joins Nickelodeon’s other franchises in the parade, including PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants, Blue’s Clues & You!, and The Smurfs. The Blue’s Clues float is revamped this year to include Blue wearing an “I Paw New York” T-shirt, referencing Blue’s Big City Adventure, the feature-length Blue’s Clues movie coming out on Paramount+ on Nov. 18.
To catch a look at the Baby Shark balloon, kids can watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Nov. 24 on NBC or Peacock from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
