Crayola is readying to bring a ton of creative content to kids later this month!
A completely free program for parents and educators, Creativity Week is running this Jan. 22-28. The program offers activity videos, downloadable handouts, and more, for use in the classroom and at home.
Creativity Week will feature several celebrity guests in its videos. The full lineup includes:
- Monday, Jan. 22: “Cooking Connects Cultures” with the creator of Sankofa: Chef and TV personality Eric Adjepong
- Tuesday, Jan. 23: “Leaping Toward Dreams” with the creators of Firebird: Principal Ballet Dancer Misty Copeland and Illustrator Christopher Myers
- Wednesday, Jan. 24: “Wishing Upon Stars” with NASA astronomers and Illustrator of Always Looking Up: Louise Pigott.
- Thursday, Jan. 25: “Seeing Our Strengths” with the creators of I Am A Masterpiece: 13-year-old Author, Actor, and Activist with Down Syndrome Mia Armstrong and Illustrator Alexandra Thompson
- Friday, Jan. 26: “Writing Your Story” with 14-year-old Actor (Avatar: The Way of Water) and Musician Trinity Bliss, as well as the creators of The Story of You: Author Lisa Ann Scott and Illustrator Sue Cornelison
- Saturday, Jan. 27: “Finding Music Everywhere” with the creators of Music is in Everything: Grammy-award winning musician Ziggy Marley and Illustrator Ag Jatkowska
- Sunday, Jan. 28: “Connecting Past and Future” with the creators of I Am Golden and We Are Golden: Style Influencer and New York Times bestselling Author Eva Chen and New York Times bestselling Illustrator Sophie Diao
Partners helping to support the Creativity Week program include NASA STEM, Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, Astra Publishing House, and more.
Crayola will also host the virtual Creativity Connects Us assembly on Jan. 26, welcoming classrooms and families to join the live event online to listen to encouraging messages from celebrities. The event will host everyone from Diary of a Wimpy Kid Author Jeff Kinney to NFL Running Back for the Minnesota Vikings Alexander Mattison.
Creativity Week will also feature giveaways, with daily prizes for participants. Parents and educators can post student artwork on social media with the hashtag #CrayolaCreativityWeek for a chance to win a variety of supplies such as books, or even teacher lounge makeovers.
