Hot Wheels is racing toward Autism Acceptance Month with its release of a new vehicle, specifically designed for open-ended, sensory play.

The new Flippin Fast Die-Cast car was inspired by the soothing experience of fidget spinner toys. Kids can flip the car, roll it forwards and backwards, and can even play with it either upside down. There is no right or wrong way to play with the new die-cast car, giving it a broader range of motion, and giving kids more play options as compared to a typical Hot Wheels vehicle.

Autism Acceptance Month begins April 1 and is an initiative spearheaded by the Autism Society, aimed at celebrating differences and empowering those with Autism to live fully. Per the Centers for Disease Control, one in 36 children is Autistic, making the need for inclusion (not least of all in play) all the more pressing.

Besides its sensory play advantages, the Flippin Fast Die-Cast car has also been validated by the Autistic Self Advocacy Network. Available in-store at retailers nationwide, the orange-colored hot rod comes in at just over a dollar, making this a great way to celebrate without breaking the bank.
