It’s never a bad time to show your kids the cartoons you grew up watching, but if you’ve been looking for the perfect reason to reunite with the Mystery Inc. gang, you’ll love Scoobtober. The annual, month-long event by Warner Bros. Discovery celebrates all things Mystery Machine and Scooby Snacks with new Scooby-Doo products, constant programming, and fun games in the Halloween spirit.
Round up the little ones and kick-off Scoobtober with Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too!, a new original animated film. It will be available across several platforms starting tomorrow, Sept. 26. In the film, Scooby-Doo and his friends will unite with DC’s Justice League for the first time — and don’t forget Krypto the Superdog! Purchase the movie digitally from Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV, Google Play, and Vudu or head to Walmart for the DVD.
After watching the new movie, kids can continue solving mysteries with their favorite pup. WB Kids’ Youtube channel will host a Scoobtober Watch Party on Oct. 27 at 4 p.m. PT. The 48-hour livestreaming event will feature fan-favorite Scooby-Doo episodes, movies, and compilations of iconic Scooby-Doo moments. You can also rely on Cartoon Network during Scoobtober, as Scooby-Doo movies will run almost continuously starting on Oct. 1. Catch Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? on Oct. 2 and What’s New, Scooby Doo? each weekday, plus other Scooby-Doo movies on the weekends.
If you’d rather choose specific Scooby-Doo moments that you know your child will love, head to Max. Browse through “Scoobtober” or “Family-Friendly Frights” on the Kids home page until you come across your favorite scenes. Starting on Oct. 10, you can also access several Scooby-Doo movies and TV titles on FanFlix. However, no Scooby-Doo viewing would be complete without snacks, so visit foodnetwork.com for an exclusive Scooby-Doo-themed recipe on Oct. 5.
Kids can dive further into the Scooby-Doo universe on Roblox. Starting on Oct. 16, mystery-solvers can interact with Shaggy and Scooby on Cartoon Network Game On! to investigate hauntings. Kids can also unlock Scoobtober digital prizes during their investigation.
All this Scooby-Doo content and mystery solving might make kids eager to Scoob-ify the rest of their lives. Luckily, Scoobtober also means a new range of Mystery Inc. products.
Prepare for trick-or-treating and turn your Scooby fan into a member of the Mystery Inc. Gang with outfits from Taylor Joelle. Velma, Daphne, and Scooby dresses, as well as Fred, Shaggy, and Scooby shirts, will add some mystery to Halloween night. If you want to join the gang, don’t worry, adult Scooby, Fred, and Shaggy shirts are also available.
Some kids might take after Shaggy and Scooby, the gang’s food-loving friends. If so, Capstone Books Scooby-Doo! Cookbook has kid-friendly recipes for creepy goodies, perfect for learning how to make your own after-school snack. Boston America’s Scooby Snacks (orange-flavored candy bones in a Scooby tin) and The Mystery Machine treats (sour green apple flavored van candies in a Mystery Machine tin) might hold them over until the Halloween haul comes in.
October can be a bit chilly, but Comics on Coffee has your puppy-loving family covered with Scooby-Doo hot cocoa. The pumpkin spice, salted caramel, and milk chocolate hot cocoa packets each feature members from the beloved franchise.
End each night in October with a Scooby-Doo story from publishers Random House and Running House. Scooby-Doo! 5-Minute Stories and Scooby-Doo! and the Pirate Treasure (Little Golden Book) are great for celebrating Scoobtober. Scooby-Doo! and the Mystery of the Haunted Library and What Would Velma Do? are also available for storytime.
