Pick a hero, any hero!
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is the latest installment in the LEGO Marvel franchise of games. Designed for kids ages 10 and up, this epic adventure game brings together iconic Marvel heroes and super villains from a variety of different eras and realities.
Picking up where LEGO Marvel Super Heroes left off, this sequel follows super villain Kang the Conqueror and his quest to conquer and kidnap the world’s most famous cities in an effort to control the universe. If players want to win, they’ll have to go through him.
Set in the open hub world of Chronopolis, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 features an open and original storyline that lets kids battle, explore, and interact with their favorite Marvel characters. Kids can engage and take control of an entire cast of characters from any corner of the Marvel universe, including Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Doctor Strange, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Spider-Gwen, Spider-Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Ant-Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Kang the Conqueror, and more. The gang is all here.
While in Chronopolis, young gamers can explore 18 different Marvel locations, which all come together to form one giant world that includes Xandar, Hydra’s Empire, and New York City to name a few. With LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, players aren’t limited to a strict story or a confined to one space. Instead, they’re free to dabble in many worlds and dive headfirst into what they’ve seen in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe.
Like previous LEGO video games, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 features a similar gameplay style in the sense that it challenges users to battle through action and puzzles sequences in order to advance. As kids oppose Kang the Conqueror and manipulate time, they’ll be able to take advantage of each hero’s unique abilities. For example, kids can take flight with Star Lord when the moment calls, or activate claw switches with Black Panther. The game also includes some more interesting characters, including Iron Duck and Carnom (a combination of Venom and Carnage). With so many neat tricks at their disposal, kids will have a blast strategically switching between their most beloved heroes.
In addition to all that LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 already has to offer, the fun doesn’t stop with story mode. With four-player multiplayer, kids can get competitive with their friends and enjoy a series of themed challenges and battle arenas. They can even play collaboratively as a team, fostering group play and teaching the importance of working together.
Ultimately, this latest installment in LEGO Marvel games provides enough action and adventure for kids to enjoy for hours. There’s even the usual lighthearted LEGO humor sprinkled throughout.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 will be available on November 14 on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.
