The Monkey King is a legendary Chinese tale about a monkey born from stone that acquires supernatural powers, including the incredible strength to carry mountains on his shoulders while running as fast as a meteor.
Last year, the LEGO Group launched Monkie Kid building sets as the first LEGO theme inspired by a Chinese legend. After a successful reception in Asia, the LEGO Group is now bringing a Monkie Kid animated series to Amazon in the U.S., along with even more building sets coming this fall.
LEGO Monkie Kid will join the Amazon Kids+ roster, an all-in-one subscription containing kid-friendly books, Audible books, videos, educational apps, and games accessible on compatible Fire tablet, Echo, Fire TV, Kindle devices, and across Android and iOS. Season one of LEGO Monkie Kid is available on Amazon Kids+ now, with season two launching on Amazon Kids+ on Oct. 28. Amazon Kids+ subscribers will have access to an exclusive Monkie Kid background and avatar on Amazon Fire Kids tablets, starting in October.
In addition to the Monkie Kid LEGO sets that are already out, new Monkie Kid products featuring characters and scenes from the series will launch on Amazon in the U.S. and Canada in time for the holiday season. The sets will include Monkey King Warrior Mech and the Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain.
