Creator Kit | Source: Make-A-Fort

Building forts is a right of passage for young kids: Gathering couch cushions and other stray home decor to construct a living room citadel is an activity that, while engaging for kids, can leave parents dealing with a messy aftermath. Make-A-Fort is taking a new approach to fort-building, elevating creativity while — thankfully —  leaving your furniture intact.

With Make-A-Fort’s new Creator Kit, kids will be able to build and rebuild the structures of their dreams. Each kit arrives in its own carrying case and includes durable, cardboard panels and braces that are eco-friendly. Kids ages 8 and up can use the Creator Kit tools to build a host of intricate structures, such as a giraffe, a shark, a jet, or a tank. The structures are often challenging and require at least two sets of hands, so parents can join in on the fortress fun! When playtime is done, kids can store the components easily in the carrying case.

For younger kids, Make-A-Fort also offers Explorer Kits, which maintain all of the creative fun while promising easier construction. Kids ages 4 and up can investigate the 20 panels, 18 braces, and 86 connectors included in the kit as they build away! Like the Creator Kit, the Explorer Kits also include a carrying case for storing all the pieces.

As kids evolve into more advanced builders, they can combine multiple Creator and Explorer kits to expand their structures. Better yet, kids can color the cardboard pieces, adding an artistic element to the STEM activity. Both the Creator and Explorer kits are available now for $79.99 at makeafort.fun. The website also provides a range of architectural inspiration for your little one to get started!
