Kids may love running around, playing, and embracing the freedom of summer vacation, but adults are often worried about summer slide. Parents can prevent summer slide, the loss of learning that happens when kids are out of school for the summer, by keeping kids sharp!
The National Summer Learning Association is teaming up with Netflix to make free activity printouts based on Netflix series kids already love! Different TV shows that are a part of the collaboration include Our Planet II, Is it Cake, Too?, Spirit Rangers, and LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising. There is also an activity sheet based on Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie.

Each worksheet features a different activity inspired by the show or movie. For example, the Our Planet II worksheet instructs kids on how to build bird houses, while the Miraculous activity has kids brainstorm ways of being kind to the people around them. When kids display that act of kindness, they get to punch a hole in their punch card! Kids can learn how to be a cake decorating pro with the Is it Cake, Too? activity, which shows kids how to make their own fondant. While watching LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising and building LEGOs are fun parts of summer, reading is also important. The Ninjago activity guides kids as they design bookmarks! Finally, the Spirit Rangers activity brings kids into nature with a bingo sheet kids can design to find all sorts of plants and animals!
