R/C vehicles are a staple of classic play. When it comes to cars, speed and style tend to lead the pack on the must-have features, but when trucks enter the mix, it’s all about a rugged sense of adventure. New Bright‘s Heavy Metal Truck collection factors in a new element with real, stamped metal body panels that look fantastic while adding some brawn to each officially licensed 4X4. And, if the kids (or parents) are feeling competitive? How about a race between trucks that are tied to notorious levels of brand loyalty?
The Heavy Metal Truck collection includes four 1:10-scale R/C trucks that are controlled by 2.4GHz technology. That means that kids can have adventures or race with up to six R/C vehicles at the same time without interference. These trucks are powered by an included rechargeable battery with USB Smart Charge technology that detects and uses the optimum charge rate for each device, meaning faster, more efficient charging. Each truck also comes with a trigger-style controller with full-function controls.

A big part of the appeal here is that these are scale replicas of real trucks — the same ones that mom or dad might drive! Truck enthusiasts can be pretty hardcore, and there are Ford families and Chevy loyalists, and that comes into play here. Kids can choose from a green Jeep Wrangler, a Red RAM 1500, a black Ford F-150 Raptor, or a blue Chevy Silverado Trailboss pickup. Is Ford really an acronym for “Fix Or Repair Daily?” The only way to find out is to have an epic R/C race through the neighborhood to see if the Raptor can outpace the Trailboss!

We have the Jeep Wrangler at our house and it’s got some serious zip to it. But what’s really cool is the 4×4 spring suspension that all Heavy Metal Trucks share. Each 15.25-inch long truck includes oversized rubber tires that handle obstacles with ease while tackling the yard, neighborhood, or even the playroom. Uneven terrain is no match!
This fall, the Heavy Metal Truck collection won over our staff and secured a coveted spot on the Toy Insider‘s 16th annual Holiday Gift Guide. They’re available exclusively at Walmart this holiday season, so if you think you know a kid that might want one, be sure to grab one now before they speed off!
