This Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers will go head-to-head with the Dallas Cowboys in a special “Super Wild Card” playoff game. For the second year in a row, Nickelodeon will broadcast the game alongside CBS Sports to give even the youngest football fans a viewing experience that’s truly the whole slime yards.
The NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon will feature enhanced on-field graphics, a special pregame and half-time presentation, and guest appearances from Nickelodeon characters. Throughout the game, an AR blimp will be displayed flying throughout the stadium and at the end, fans will be able to vote for the game’s top performer on nflnickplay.com. This player will be crowned the Nickelodeon Valuable Player (NVP) and praised with a slime-filled celebration.
CBS Sports play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle, CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson, and Nickelodeon star Gabrielle Nevaeh Green from That Girl Lay Lay will act as announcers for the game. Dylan Gilmer of Young Dylan is set to make his debut as a sideline reporter. During halftime, viewers can get an exclusive look at Nickelodeon’s new animated series Big Nate, based on the children’s books and comic strip by Lincoln Peirce. The show is set to debut on Paramount+ this year.
The NFL Wild Card Game on Nickelodeon will air at 4:30 p.m. ET on Nickelodeon. For fans who won’t be watching the game from their couch (is there really anywhere else to watch football?), the Nickelodeon broadcast of the Super Wild Card Game will also be available for streaming on the NFL app for free on phones and tablets. Your little football fans will want to be on the slime-line for this!
