The U.S. Postal Service is joining forces with Toys “R” Us to make Operation Santa easier than ever for families.
Operation Santa is a program where adults can adopt kids’ letters to Santa Claus. Now, these generous folks can check items off of wish lists faster than ever through a specially curated e-commerce site run by the toy retailer.
Operation Santa is officially receiving letters from now until Dec. 9. Starting Nov. 18, Santas-in-the-making can go through the letters to decide which list (or lists) to adopt. Once they’ve picked out a list, they have until Dec. 16 to wrap and ship the toys to their recepients. You can sign up for Operation Santa individually, but you can also partner with a team of friends or coworkers to spread the holiday cheer!
This year, families can also use USPS Ground Advantage to ship their Operation Santa gifts with an expected shipping time of 2-5 business days. USPS is also looking to expand the program next year to include clothes, shoes, books, and other items that are vital to kids during the holidays.
Operation Santa is also getting the spotlight in the new season of Hulu’s Dear Santa series, which comes out on Nov. 24. The series will feature the stories of kids whose letters were answered and the people who made their holiday wishes come true.
