Young readers rejoice! PBS Kids is gearing up to release two new series, expanding the worlds of Super Why! and Clifford the Big Red Dog.
Continuing its long-beloved educational superhero franchise, PBS Kids will release Super Why’s Comic Book Adventures this fall. Each seven-minute episode is set within a comic book-inspired universe. Like the original Super Why! show, the interactive episodes focus on early literacy skills to promote the educational development of preschoolers and kindergarteners.
The new show premieres Oct. 5 and reintroduces kids to characters like Super Why, Wonder Red, Alpha Pig, and Princess Presto, along with newcomer Power Paige. With their various gadgets, literacy powers, and the help of the viewer, the team will defend Reader Valley from villains like the malicious Mr. More and the unorderly Outta Space. The new show fosters knowledge of the alphabet, symbolic phonological and phonemic awareness, and comprehension skills in young kids.
Next year, PBS Kids will also bring kids a new take on its popular children’s buddy comedy. The new Clifford the Big Red Dog series will bring back Emily Elizabeth and Clifford for new adventures that show kids how they can impact their communities and how to make friends.
With 26 episodes in the series, each episode will feature an interactive game and two 11-minute stories. The series continues the story’s core values, instilling social problem-solving skills and a sense of community into your little one.
