Add Legendary Pokémon Ogerpon to Your TCG Battles This Spring

The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) is growing! In May, your family can add the Scarlet & Violet — Twilight Masquerade expansion to your battles and collection. 

In the new expansion, you’ll find Pokémon that were originally discovered in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 1: The Teal Mask. If you’re unfamiliar, it’s downloadable content (DLC) for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games. 

Several Pokémon from the DLC will make their debut, including Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti! The new TCG expansion will also feature Legendary Pokémon Ogerpon as four different Tera Pokémon ex, with Grass, Water, Fighting, and Fire types, based on its four masks. Players can battle different types of Ogerpon ex by utilizing the Ogre’s Mask, which is a new Item card. With this card, your aspiring Pokémon trainer can swap any Ogerpon ex in play with an Ogerpon ex from the discard pile. 

Ogerpon’s Pokémon TCG debut is a big deal, and The  Pokémon Co. International is celebrating accordingly: Six new cards from the Scarlet & Violet — Twilight Masquerade expansion have been revealed. Players can look forward to adding Teal Mask Ogerpon ex, Hearthflame Mask Ogerpon ex, Wellspring Mask Ogerpon ex, Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex, Teal Mask Ogerpon, and Ogre’s Mask to their battles. 

The expansion also features six Ace Spec rare Trainer and Special Energy cards, seven Pokémon ex and seven Tera Pokémon ex, 21 illustration rare Pokémon, 11 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards, and six hyper rare gold etched cards. 

The expansion will be available as booster packs, booster bundles, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collections on May 24. Certain products are available to preorder now, including the Scarlet & Violet — Twilight Masquerade Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, which comes with two extra booster packs and one additional illustration rare-style promo card featuring the Pokémon Center logo. 

If you and your favorite Trainer can’t wait until the end of May, you can play with the expansion beforehand by attending a Prerelease tournament. Part of the Play! Pokémon competitive program, certain independent retailers will host tournaments with the expansion beginning May 11.
