LITTLE MELBA AND HER BIG TROMBONE

This kid-friendly biography inspires little ones to chase their dreams, no matter what! Since she was young, people told Melba Doretta Liston she couldn’t be a musician because of her race and gender. Despite the obstacles, Melba persisted and became one of the world’s most famous jazz trombonists, playing music with Billie Holiday, Quincy Jones, and many more. Like Melba, kids will learn that courage and hard work will help them reach for the stars.
