You wouldn’t think that the rock band Simple Plan and Disney go well together, but you’d be wrong!
Simple Plan launched a cover of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” in honor of The Lion King’s 30th anniversary, and it’s already changing the lives of little rockers who also love Disney. The cover is the first single from Disney’s upcoming album: A Whole New Sound, which will feature more covers of iconic Disney songs from alternative, rock, and pop-punk bands.
The launch of this album also includes epic character art of Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy dressed in hoodies, baseball caps, beanies, and other iconic looks.
Disney fans young and old will be able to check out Simple Plan’s first live performance of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” on Aug. 9 at D23. The full album, including a vinyl pressing, will launch later this year. Simple Plan’s take on “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” is available on streaming now at Spotify, Apple Music, and more.
