Everybody do the Cosmic Shake!
SpongeBob SquarePants is leaving his pineapple under the sea to save the universe in a new Nintendo video game launching at the end of the month. In SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, SpongeBob and Balloon-Patrick find themselves with wish-granting mermaid tears that could potentially unlock the fabric of the universe, opening portals into Wishworlds full of knights, cowboys, pirates, and prehistoric snails.
Players can travel to seven Wishworlds, including Wild West Jellyfish Fields and Halloween Rock Bottom; unlock platforming skills like the Fishhook Swing and the Karate Kick; and wear more than 30 cosmic costumes, such as SnailBob and SpongeGar. Patrick comes along for the ride, too … only this time he’s a balloon.
Fans of the Nickelodeon series can run into their favorite characters, voiced by their original actors, and bop along to the in-game soundtrack featuring 101 songs from the animated series, including “Sweet Victory.”
Recommended for kids ages 10 and up, the game is available for preorder for $39.99. It officially launches on Jan. 31 for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
