Starlight Children’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering happiness to hospitalized kids, has launched its Power of Play campaign. The month-long campaign starts today and aims to raise $225,000 for its programs through different activations, including its annual Stream for Starlight Spring Steam event, and bring awareness to the healing power of play for kids in hospitals.

Starlight Children’s Foundation strives to implement play through vital programs made possible with partners such as Nintendo of America, Radio Flyer, and more. The Foundation offers toy deliveries and programs like Starlight Gaming, Starlight Radio Flyer Hero Wagons, Starlight Hospital Gowns, and Starlight Virtual Reality to children’s hospitals and healthcare facilities for free. Funds raised through the Power of Play campaign will help place Starlight programs at numerous partner hospitals.

There are several key dates for the Power of Play campaign. A 50-hour raid train streaming event will kick off on March 8 at 4 p.m. ET to raise $50,000 in support of Starlight Gaming by Mario Day on March 10. The kick-off event on Starlight’s Twitch channel will feature popular creators like TheHungerService, Smirky, Amish_Ace, and more.

From March 10-31, Starlight will host its annual Spring Stream fundraising event on Twitch with more than 120 content creators. Throughout the entire month of March, Child Life Specialist Month, child life specialists are invited to share play techniques for healing and recovery on social media.

On March 27, Little Red Wagon Day, kids of all ages can use their favorite Radio Flyer wheels, including the Starlight Radio Flyer Hero Wagon.

According to the Foundation, when play is a core part of a kid’s treatment, it can have a positive effect by helping kids comply with treatments and reducing pain levels. With play at the center of medical treatment, kids have an outlet for processing and expressing emotions, which can help them heal faster.

Starlight Children’s Foundation invites the community, individuals, and companies to support the campaign and make an impact on kids facing illness. For more information, or to make a contribution, visit starlight.org/play.
