Bored over the winter break? Head to Hogwarts for the holidays in a new winter update to the Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells mobile game.
Interactive entertainment company Zynga announced that the special December event is heading to the wizarding world game from Warner Bros. Games, published under the Portkey Games label.
Players can collect cards to complete the limited-time “Christmas in the Wizarding World” album to unlock a unicorn as their companion magical creature — just don’t let Professor Quirrell anywhere near it! Hogwarts will also turn into a winter wonderland with holiday decor and falling snowflakes that players can collect to earn rewards.
The Match-3 puzzles within the mobile game will feature special “Wizard Cracker” boosts that will drop into puzzles unexpectedly to gift players with an extra gem-clearing blast. Singer and Harry Potter fan Zayn Malik is partnering with the Zynga team to create customization elements for the Match-3 mini-game, including more life-like avatar features. Zayn debuted his own avatar on social media with an invitation for his fans to share their own images.
New avatar customizations are coming, and here’s a sneak peek; What do you think? Looks like me? Join me in playing @HPPuzzlesSpells here: https://t.co/ePahfIJkuk. Take a screenshot of yours and share below! #HarryPotter #PuzzlesAndSpells #Sponsored pic.twitter.com/Evh6jQZL7c
