This year, Highlights For Children celebrates 75 years of creativity and curiosity by introducing new products and resources for purposeful fun.
Maintaining the mindset that “children are the world’s most important people,” Highlights commemorated its enduring legacy by handing the mic over to its audience. Dear Highlights: What Adults Can Learn from 75 Years of Letters and Conversations with Kids was published in August and shares a curated collection of letters, drawings, and poems that Highlights has received from kids over the past 75 years. The book is targeted at adults, Intended to help them foster a deeper understanding for their kids. It’s available for purchase on highlights.com and major retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, and Walmart.
Highlight’s Chief Purpose Officer and Editor-in-Chief Christine French Cully made her audio debut in the Dear Highlights podcast. In the podcast, Cully takes a deep dive into the letters found in Dear Highlights and explores what these letters can teach parents about communication in childhood. The third season of the podcast is set to launch on Jan. 11 on highlights.com, as well as on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts.
Of course, the parents can’t have all the fun, so this holiday season Highlights welcomed two new additions to its Highlights Book of Things to Do activity book collection. All budding artists and authors are invited to explore their imaginations in the Highlights Book of Things to Draw and Highlights Book of Things to Write. Both books include a host of different games and exercises to improve kids’ writing and drawing skills. They are available for purchase at highlights.com, as well as Amazon, Target, and Walmart!
